Roy and his family are one of the best and most warming people ever, the joy and service that Roy brings to the trip is one of a kind, he does everything in his power for you to enjoy the experience to the maximum.

100 percent recommend this tour against anything else, if you are coming to Tromso as a tourist you need to book a tour Roy, you will not find something better than this, this is the best experience I have had of this kind which was camping and ice fishing. He also was super prepared with all the gear, he had everything for it to go as smoothly as possible.

I am super grateful for the experience and if we get the chance to come back to Norway we will definitely do something with Roy again.

I don’t have enough words to describe the experience with Roy... Professional, prepared, passionate about nature, attentive, polite, friendly... We booked the excursion with him a month in advance to go see the Northern Lights. We set the day and little else. Everything was up in the air pending the weather forecast: the time, the duration, the destination.

Finally, he came to pick us up at the hotel, took us to his house with his family, lent sleds to my 13 and 15 years old children, regaled us to traditional, home-cooked food, the kind that can’t be bought, told us about the Northern Lights on a scientific and cultural level, about Norwegian customs, about the stars, offered us his sauna (that we used) and prepared everything outside to be aware of the Northern Lights.

The night gave us several impressive Northern Lights and a “big show”, a dream come true. He took photos and some videos while we enjoyed the spectacle of nature. He was always aware of whether we needed anything: food, drinks, more clothes. We will never forget the time we shared with Roy and his lovely family, he made us feel like we were having dinner with an old friend.

We will return to your beautiful country and if you ever come to Madrid, give us a call. The word that sums it all up is: THANK YOU.

We had a great time going snowshoeing with Roy from Arctic Trip during our Norway vacation. He is extremely knowledgeable and welcomed us to his family and a Norwegian snack and drinks before we departed for our snowshoe hike. The day was great and we learned a lot about plants and animals and enjoyed Norwegian sausage and warmed up at a fire.

But beyond that Roy was very helpful throughout the week — texted us when Northern Lights appeared and managed to organize for us a husky sled trip when everything was sold out. We highly recommend his services! Great hospitality!

If you are looking for a real experience, you are at the right place.

My husband and I are in our mid-twenties, and we are not new to international traveling/tours. We find ourselves feeling like we are a part of tourist “cash grabs” when using bigger tourism companies. Let me tell you, this is the COMPLETE opposite. Roy and his family are some of the kindest and most down to earth people you will meet. They welcomed us into their home, fed us 3 fantastic home cooked meals, we learned a new card game, and we sat at their kitchen table just talking about life. Roy personalized our trip to what we were interested in: we took a little bit of a hike on a nearby mountain, visited a frozen waterfall, sled all the way back down, spent time in the sauna, and watched for the Aurora.

The 3 days we were in Tromso, the Aurora activity was not in our favor. We used a bigger tour company the day before, and felt like there was no warmth with the guide or explanation behind the phenomenon. Roy is very knowledgable and took the time to explain the science behind the models/forecast. We did not see any activity before bed, but Roy kept looking towards the skies and woke us up when the sky cleared overhead to see the Aurora. He took pictures of us with the skies that we will have forever.

I seriously could go on and on and on about this stay. It is something we will cherish for the rest of our lives. It by far exceeded our expectations and was the most unique experience. We definitely feel like we had a home away from home.
